About OmegaFlex®
OmegaFlex® is a 100% New Zealand owned product range manufactured from New Zealand food sources that are natural and toxin-free. Our range includes products based on the anti-inflammatory properties of Green Lipped Mussels (Perna Canaliculus) (GLM), as well as the health benefits from beef bone broth, pumpkin powders and marine collagen powders capsules.

Keith’s story in early 1998 I met a biochemist working on the anti-inflammatory benefits of Green Lipped Mussel (GLM) products for people, dogs and horses, where older dogs became much more active again after taking GLM tablets and were able to enjoy going for walks again. I was impressed with the success record of GLM, where the dogs were taking the tablet without any knowledge that they were for their mobility and clearly there was no placebo effect. We developed a range of products for humans and pets, including a GLM based tablet for dogs which we sold to several Pfizer Animal Health country subsidiaries throughout Europe, Japan and several other countries.

In 2005 I established a factory in Havelock, Marlborough, to manufacture the highest quality GLM powder and oil, and in the mid 2010s Delwyn and I started developing the current product range. I now have over 25 years’ experience of manufacturing and formulating our GLM and other quality products that have delivered real health benefits.
As we age, we develop more inflammatory problems, a phenomenon called Inflammaging, which may manifest in different ways for individuals.
As I age, I no longer take my health for granted as much as I used to and am now focused on trying to stay as fit, active and healthy as possible and so take our GLM capsules daily as well as the Flex-It gel when I feel any localised pain, stiffness, or discomfort.
Delwyn’s story My passion for OmegaFlex products began when I owned a small café in Havelock and in the evenings my wrists were often sore from an old RSI injury from years back. One evening when my wrists were very painful, Keith gave me an old tub of gel, and to my amazement found I was pain free within 5 minutes. From my own experience of using my products I know how they have helped me with my RSI, my activity-induced asthma and hay fever, and how they have helped friends and customers with a variety of inflammatory conditions.
In 2016, we developed an enhanced gel for topical pain, and also a gel for skin problems which combined the anti-inflammatory benefits of GLM with the anti-bacterial benefits of manuka honey. In 2017 we were asked to develop a drink for asthmatic children in China where a high percentage of the population live in cities with often severe pollution. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the barriers for our potential customer to import this product into China proved insurmountable, but at least that gave us our Flexi-Breathe which has helped customers here in NZ with a range of respiratory problems.
I take the GLM capsules daily for my arthritis and asthma and, although I always take my inhaler with me as a safety blanket, in fact I haven’t used them for the last 5 years (we always encourage customers to keep their steroidal inhalers up to date and with them at all times). Nearly 3 years ago, I was diagnosed with arthritis in my left knee that needed a replacement, which surgery was eventually undertaken earlier this year. Throughout my wait for surgery, I was advised by the local orthopedics department to take 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol, 4 times a day = 16 NSAIDs daily! Instead, I relied solely on the natural anti-inflammatory benefits of our GLM capsules, which can be taken for the long term, as well as our topical Flex-It gel applied to my knee. Occasionally, when the pollen season is in full swing if I get hay fecer then I also take the Flexi-Breathe to help reduce that feeling of congestion in my nose and head.
